Finally! I've got all the pictures added to the website!
I'm not out of the woods yet, but it feels so incredibly good to finally have all the creative photos I've ever taken uploaded and organized on this website. My last blog post was a bit pessimistic sounding because I was feeling quite overwhelmed with how much work there was still left to do. I started this website a long time ago and it was really beating me up. It wasn't the most fun thing in the world to get all done. But, I knew I would feel great about it once I got through it. It's a lot of doing the same over and over again.
What I mean by not being out of the woods yet though is that I want to get all the shopping links on all the photos next. I was doing them at the same time I was adding them but that was turning out to be overwhelming. Now I can see the entire view of how all the photos lay out on the whole website. I'm hoping this is going to go a lot faster than what I just went through, but I'm trying to be realistic about it. It's probably going to be very lengthy and frustrating as well.
But, I don't want to focus on the negative. I'm for sure making progress in the right direction. I just know that I still won't be happy if I don't monetize the website. It's pretty useless if no one is able to do anything with the photos other than look at them and potentially steal them.
Although, to be honest, I'm not even sure anyone likes these photos or cares about them. But, that's not really what's most important to me. I enjoy taking these kind of photos and I like the photos and I think if I just stick with what I like and put it out there I'll find the audience that makes sense for me. I'm not going to change anything about my process.
One thing is for sure though... It feels great to have all the pictures uploaded because I have been hesitant to go take any NEW pictures for a really long time because I knew that would just make feel even more backed up and overwhelmed than I was.
It might be confusing to anyone that's looking closely how this blog post can be in 2021 and I'm talking about how all the pictures are finally on the website but so many of them are so old. I am able to put in the accurate date that the picture was taken for the post and I think it's important for me and anyone looking to associate the correct timestamp of the photo. Not just when it was finally uploaded to the Internet.
Instead of having to upload and organize hundreds of photos all at one time I intend to be able to upload and manage a handful at a time. That seems way more manageable going forward.
Well, that's about it. I better get to working on getting the shopping links ready. I have allocated some time off work to finally get this done and out of the way because I have neglected a lot of other creative projects because of this one and I'm really excited to get back to them as well. I really did not expect this was going to be such an overwhelming task when I started it but boy am I glad I stuck with it and got it done.
